Job description – Part-time Accountant
This is a 20-hour permanent part-time position with $55-60K plus Super pro rata role . This has a potential to grow into a full-time role. Flexible working hours are available.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Examining bank statements & expenses and reconciling them with general ledger entries
- Keeping an eye on incoming and outgoing payments
- Issuing clients’ invoices and following up on payments
- Creating company financial reports – to be then processed by external accountants
- Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health
- Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue
- Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow
- Processing and maintaining payroll
- Monthly BAS filing, Tax reporting and inventory processing
- Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates
- Advising on estimates for project funding
- Creating KPI reports
- Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
- Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
- Examining financial records to check for accuracy
- Payroll processing
Qualifications and requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Advanced understanding of platforms such as Xero and MYOB, MSOffice Suite (Advanced Skills in Excel)
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- An analytical mind
- Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
- Commercial and business awareness
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
- Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints

- Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA Australia)
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA Australia)
